Providing Everything You Need
Dr. Julio E. Williams is an experienced and distinguished practitioner in the field of cardiovascular and thoracic surgery, renowned for his expertise in a wide array of specialized services.
His practice encompasses four main service areas given below-
Cardiovascular Surgery
Cardiovascular surgery focuses on treating conditions affecting the heart and blood vessels. Dr. Williams specializes in complex procedures such as aortic root reconstructions, which involve repairing or replacing the base or root of the aorta,( the main artery that carries blood from the heart to the rest of the body). He also performs off-pump coronary artery bypass grafting (OPCAB), a technique used to bypass blocked coronary arteries without stopping the heart and avoiding the use of the heart lung machine(Cardiopulmonary bypass or CPB).
These advanced procedures aim to restore proper blood flow to the heart and improve overall cardiac function and can be performed via a small incision on the anterior chest wall or through the lateral chest wall with video assistance and also through a traditional sternotomy on the anterior chest midline area.

Thoracic Surgery
Thoracic surgery deals with conditions affecting the organs and structures within the chest, including the lungs, esophagus, and chest wall. Dr. Williams is skilled in video-assisted thoracic surgery (VATS), a minimally invasive approach used to diagnose and treat various thoracic conditions. He specializes in comprehensive lung cancer management, performing surgeries to remove tumors and diseased lung tissue.
Additionally, Dr. Williams offers surgical removal of mediastinal tumors , esophageal resections, chest wall excision and reconstructions to repair defects or injuries affecting the chest wall, ensuring optimal respiratory function and chest stability.
Endovascular Surgery
Endovascular surgery involves minimally invasive procedures performed inside blood vessels to treat conditions such as aneurysms, dissections, and peripheral vascular disease. Dr. Williams utilizes innovative techniques, including hybrid approaches combining open surgical and endovascular procedures, to treat complex thoracic aortic conditions. He offers interventions for thoracic and abdominal aortic aneurysms, using advanced stent grafts techniques to reinforce weakened blood vessel walls and prevent rupture.
Additionally, Dr. Williams performs peripheral vascular interventions for stroke prevention and management such as Carotid Endarterectomy with pericardial patch angioplasty(CAE) and also to improve blood flow in the arms and legs, promoting limb salvage, preventing amputation and restoring function during the management of Limb acute ischemia and chronic claudication .

Humanitarian Medicine
Humanitarian medicine involves providing medical care and assistance to underserved populations, often in regions with limited access to healthcare resources the world over. Dr. Williams is dedicated to extending his expertise to communities in need, collaborating with non-profit organisations to deliver essential healthcare services world wide including parts of Africa, Latin America and the Indian Subcontinent.
He participates in global health initiatives (Medical Missions and Medical Camps)aimed at promoting health equity and accessibility, ensuring that preventive and life-saving treatments reach humanity in need regardless of their socio-economic status or geographic location.
